Welcome to the Geo.Trail Achensee
Explore the fascinating geology of the Rofan Mountains with the interactive Geo.Trail at Lake Achensee near Maurach! This approximately 1.0 km-long educational trail with 10 stations invites you to discover the formation of the landscape, evidence of the Ice Age, exciting fossils and much more!
The Geo.Trail Achensee was created in 2025 by Stephanie Benischke, MSc and Johann Walser in cooperation with the municipality of Eben am Achensee, the Achensee Tourist Board and the University of Innsbruck.
How the Geo.Trail works
- At Each Station: You will find Information boards accompanied by exhibit rocks.
- Interactive Questions: Green boxes prompt you to solve puzzles.
- QR Codes: Scan the codes on the boards to access additional information on our website.
- Accessibility: The trail is designed to be walked in both directions and is suitable for everyone.
